The Millside Hospital Radio based at Kings Mill Hospital in Sutton in Ashfield is currently looking for volunteers. The radio station broadcasts 24 hours per day across the wards of the hospital and they are also online. They provide a wide variety of entertainment for inpatients at the hospital. The station is run completely by volunteers and they are currently looking for new radio presenters and other station staff to work behind the scenes. Full training will be given. So, if you fancy getting into radio or helping out behind the scenes why not join this fantastic friendly team and give them a helping hand. Family Fundraising Event
On Saturday 24th March from 10am – 2pm there is a family fundraising event taking place at the Aldi store on Mansfield Road in Sutton in Ashfield. There will be lots happening including a raffle with lots of prizes, a cake stall, face painting, a colouring competition plus lots more. There is also a silent auction happening with the lots on display in the store now and you can also place your bid in store now too. All funds raised are going to the Teenage Cancer Trust. Please go along and show your support if you can.
Spring Craft Fair
On Saturday 24th March from 10am – 1pm there is a spring craft fair taking place at Hill Methodist Church in Kirkby in Ashfield. There will be lots of craft stalls, a cake stall, raffle, children’s craft corner plus refreshments and lots more. Everyone is welcome to go along. The church is located at number 43 The Hill in Kirkby just opposite Southwell Lane.
Sherwood Observatory Open Evening
On Saturday 24th March starting at 6.45pm the Mansfield & Ashfield Astronomical Society are opening up their Sherwood Observatory to give you the chance of taking a look at the beautiful night sky through their fantastic telescopes. The observatory can be found on Coxmoor Road in Sutton in Ashfield. Onsite parking is free, admission is £5 for over 16’s or £1 for under. Please note all under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult. Please wear warm outdoor clothing. All viewings are weather dependant. Everyone welcome, refreshments available.
Fundraising Fun Day
On Saturday 24th March from 10am – 3pm there is a fundraising fun day taking place at Rainworth Miners Welfare. There will be lots happening including a bouncy castle, a fire engine, crafts, face painting, glitter tattoos and lots more. The event is raising funds and awareness for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Everyone is welcome!!
Easter Egg Hunt
On Saturday 24th March from 10am – 12 noon there is an Easter egg hunt taking place at Skegby Methodist Church & Anchor Centre. There will also be crafts, face painting and lots more. Everyone welcome.
Fundraising Evening Of Entertainment
On Friday 30th March from 8.30pm until late there is a fundraising evening of entertainment taking place at the Forest Town Arena in aid of the Urology Unit at Kings Mill. There will be several live performances on the night including award winning vocalist Leanne Disney, acoustic vocalist Natalie Robinson, multi award winning comedy vocalist Marc Bolton, motown and soul duo Motown Motion and Blues Bros tribute UK Chicago Blues. Tickets are £5 each and can be bought from the venue or by calling Steve on 07833 996028 or on the door on the night. There will also be a raffle on the night too. Please go along and show your support if you can. Everyone welcome.
On Saturday 31st March from 11am – 3pm there is an Easter Fair taking place at the Civic Quarter. There will be a variety of craft stalls offering a wide range of different products with something to suit everyone. There will also be face painting for the kids and the cafe and bar will be open. The Civic Quarter is located inside the Civic Centre on Chesterfield Road in Mansfield.
On Saturday 7th April from 10.30am – 12.30pm there is a coffee morning taking place at Skegby Methodist Church & Anchor Centre. As well as tea and coffees, full cooked breakfasts will be on offer and there will be a variety of stalls too. Everyone welcome to call in for a cuppa or more!!
