The Guide

The NHS Needs You – It’s Not too Late – Register Now

Obviously with the current lockdown situation throughout the UK there are no events taking place in our area so why not volunteer? The NHS needs help, they originally needed 250,000 people across the UK to help the NHS and local communities cope at this time and although that figure has now been smashed they will still need more people the longer that this goes on. So, if perhaps the NHS has ever treated you or a loved one now is the time you can repay them. If you are fit, healthy and well and can spare some time to help please fill in the online form. Simply search on the internet for NHS Volunteer Responders and you will see the page. Please help if you can at this time of national emergency.

At this time of crisis happening throughout the UK and Worldwide please don’t forget to help and support your neighbours. Keep an eye especially on elderly, disabled or vulnerable people living nearby. You may not be able to go into see them but a chat through a closed door or slightly open window at a safe distance of at least 2 metres might make all the difference to their day and could even save their life. Be kind and thoughtful of your local community at this time.

Thursday at 8pm – Clap For Carers

Every Thursday evening at 8pm residents across the UK come out onto their streets to clap for our carers. Not only are we clapping to thank our NHS staff and carers but to thank all our frontline and key workers without whom this crisis would be significantly worse. So, at 8pm on Thursday get yourself on your doorstep or driveway and give the biggest round of applause you can to show your appreciation for the fantastic work being carried out by these amazing people who are going above and beyond the call of duty on a daily basis and in some cases even risking their own lives to help us come through this crisis. We appreciate them very much and now is the time to show them how much!
